LANCE WHORTON

Lance graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2010 and has been involved in pastoral ministry since that time.  In 2019 he was ordained as an elder in the Free Methodist Church.  He and his wife Laurie were called to start a church that reaches Navarre in a unique way.  From this calling Ignite was born.

Ignite is a place where you will not only hear the Gospel, but will be given the opportunity to work through how this message plays out in your daily life.  We believe church is not just a  Sunday to Sunday meeting.  It is a way of life.     

In addition to their love for God, Lance and Laurie also have a passion of helping with the overall health of others. They are both physical therapists and own Whorton Therapy where they offer a holistic approach to healthcare.  In their spare time they love anything beach: fishing, paddle boarding, or enjoying a sunset, they love anything outdoors.  

LAURIE WHORTON

Laurie has been involved with church since she was little. She met Lance while she was in undergraduate college and got married in August, 1994. They have a daughter named Jordan who is also highly involved in the church.  

Laurie has been walking alongside her husband in his pursuit of pastoral ministry. She is a trained Stephan Minister, which has helped her with her role as Ignite's Associate Pastor.  In additional to supporting Lance in ministry, Laurie works full time as a Pediatric Physical Therapist.  She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy in 1994 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2017.   Laurie is passionate about working with children and helping them gain mobility.  She has worked in a variety of pediatric physical therapy setting and is currently working with Florida's Early Steps Program.   In her spare time, Laurie enjoys puzzles, yard work and almost anything outdoors.

Ashely Mathews

Ashley has been a part of  Ignite Church since 2017.  She has 12 plus years of experience with children ministry and childhood development.  She desires to help children learn and love God in fun and creative ways.  

Ashley has been married to Micah for 5 years.  They have two children, Kainoa and Kaileia with a third baby due in November.  When Ashley is not helping kids learn about Jesus, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing volleyball and being with family.
